I've always loved the idea of Cthulhu, and I've read a short story by Gaiman about it, but my dirty secret is that I've never read any Lovecraft. I don't know where to start. Help?

Hello, sorry I’ve taken ages to reply.

My first Lovecraft story was The Shadowover Innsmouth. This was followed by The Lurking Fear, an attempt at Dreams in the Witchhouse and then four years later I read The Call of Cthulhu. I’ve read a few others, but I can’t quite remember them.

If you’re having a hard time finding Lovecraft, there are two sites I like. This one has large font size and then there’s this one which has more than just his fictions, but the font size is fairly normal.

Oh my…

Yes, again, I have been dead on here. School and this musical I’m in (playing violin in the pit, bby) have caused me to avoid this tumblr. Anyway, I am here to bring you an update that is…a little disturbing and probably has Mr. Lovecraft rolling in his grave.

They have made Cthulhu dildos.

Cthulhu dildos.

Cthulhu dildos.

And if you think I am shitting you: Click if you really insist on seeing it

It’s 11 inches long and 2 inches wide with “clit stimulating tentacle tail.” Oh, and if the 200 dollar dildo is too cheap for you, they’re offering a Mythos Basic. One color that is still “the same silicone monstrosity!”

The fabled symbol of magical protection from occult forces, John Dee’s Elder Sign just barely fits on this remarkably small garment. Keep things out; keep things in - the Elder Sign is right where you need it. Light, aerodynamic, and breathable, this is the mystical symbol that will keep the evil Things of the Mythos at bay without leaving panty lines on your clothes.

Poe. Blackwood. Dunsany. Peerless scribes of strange shadow and cosmic outsideness. Immortals. Long have I mused on the tale that might earn me entree into this renowned coterie. Not because I seek the tawdry trappings of celebrity or the brief adulation of an ephemeral readership. No, it is for one reason alone - In all things otherwise, I am unexceptional.
